TLDR: We’re doubling down on IRL Core groups. Starting now, Hampton is focusing on growth in 13 chapter cities: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver.

If you’re virtual and not near one of these 13 cities (30% of you):

• Nothing changes about your membership.
• Your Core group will keep going. If you need more members, we’ll fill in.from Hampton’s existing pool.
• We’ll still host events in your area based on demand, and you can still can self-organize.
• Plus: we’re helping virtual Core groups plan and run retreats. More on that soon.

If you’re in one of these 13 cities (70% of you):

• You can join an IRL Core group. And also, if you want, keep your virtual group too.
• You’ll get more events in your City’s Chapter.
• A full time Hampton City Lead to help you connect locally. </aside>

Core / Membership

• Are virtual groups going away? No. We’re just not launching brand new ones. But we will be supporting all currently running ones indefinitely.
• Do all members still have access to everything? Yes. Every member has access to Core (IRL or virtual), events, slack, retreats
• Can I be in both an IRL and a virtual Core? Yes. You can join an IRL core group while also staying in your virtual Core group.
• How often do Core groups meet? Core Groups meet 10x a year, with most groups skipping August and December.
• Can I switch Core groups if mine isn’t a fit? We only make immediate changes if there’s a clear conflict of interest (like a direct competitor, co-founder, or past business issue). If it just feels like the fit isn’t right, we ask that you attend three meetings first. Often, initial impressions shift as you get to know the group. During this time, we’ll connect you with your moderator and provide support to make sure you’re getting the most from the experience.

Cities / Chapters

• Which are the 13 Chapters? Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver. We are quietly piloting San Diego and Seattle too (shhh)
• When will Hampton IRL come to my city? We’ll be launching more soon. Our goal, eventually, is to be in hundreds of cities. We’ll launch more as our operations can scale so we make sure everyone’s getting a 10/10 experience.
• What if I move to a new city? Be sure to update your address on the portal (members.myhampton.com). Click on your profile photo on the top right, click “Account Settings”, then scroll down to “Location Information.” You’ll get an updated City Lead, if applicable. If you need to change Core Groups due to the move, be sure to email [email protected]
• Is there a cap on IRL Core group size? We find the best groups are between 8-10. Hampton does not allow groups over 10 members.
• How will Hampton decide the next Chapter city to launch? Demand and operations. When our operations can handle creating a new chapter and we can have enough wonderful members to make the chapter great.

• What do City Leads actually do? Your City Lead is your go-to Hampton point of contact for all things Hampton. Whether you’re looking to join a new Core group, host an event, have questions about your renewal, or just want best practices on how to get the most out of Hampton, your City Lead’s got your back.
• How do I contact my City Lead? The best way to get a hold of them, especially for anything important, is by emailing [email protected]. If you’re just looking for banter, Slack’s cool too.

Events / Retreats / Network

• What’s included in my Chapter? A built-in local community and a regular calendar of events to connect with members nearby. When you travel, you can easily tap into the Hampton network in other chapters.
• What’s included in the Hampton Network? Full access to the Hampton community, every member on Slack, plus opportunities to connect in person at events and retreats across all Chapters.
